Tips to Keep Your Engineered Wood Flooring Looking its Best

Wood flooring is known for its easy maintenance and longevity, and engineered wood flooring builds on these distinguishing attributes. A simple regular cleaning regime using the right tools and cleaning solution is all you need to maintain its premium aesthetic appeal. Installing a great quality floor and maintaining it are great starting points to a beautiful home. When it comes to wood flooring installation and maintenance, the former is best left to professionals, while the latter is entirely your responsibility. To help, in this blog, we are going to look at some simple tips to keep your wooden flooring looking its best.

Daily Cleaning

The starting point to a well-kept floor is having a daily cleaning regiment in place.  While the use of humidifiers is encouraged during summers and winters to combat expansion and shrinking of hardwood floors, it is not a must when it comes to engineered wood flooring due to its superior performance. One thing you need to remember is to avoid liquid cleaners such as using a wet mop, but rather, resort to dusting with a microfiber cloth.

Weekly Maintenance

Once every week, clean the dirt using a vacuum cleaner that has a tightly squeezed mop. This is important as it allows you to also get rid of any dirt that is in corners and other hard-to-reach areas.

Monthly Maintenance

Once every four months or when necessary, take time to replace felt pads that are placed under the legs of furniture pieces. Make sure to use glue felt pads to protect the flooring from scratches caused by furniture.
