Preparation

Applying the Lacquer
The best time to apply lacquer is when the humidity levels are right, according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. This is especially true when it comes to solvent based lacquers, which, when applied under conditions of high moisture, may produce white areas (blushing) where the moisture is trapped.

- Make sure to keep the solids in the lacquer suspended during application by stirring regularly

- Start lacquering the furthest corner of the room and proceed towards the exit.
- Put screens on any open windows as fresh lacquer attracts insects
- Solvent-based lacquers can pose a fire hazard, which is why you need to take the necessary precautions.
